Pinellas County will begin a major roadway improvement project in Oldsmar on Monday, Feb. 4, and traffic patterns will be impacted during construction.
To relieve congestion, Forest Lakes Boulevard will be widened to a four-lane divided roadway with bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides from west of Pine Avenue to east of Race Track Road. The project includes areas of full roadway reconstruction and upgrades to the signalized intersections at Pine Avenue and Brooker Creek Boulevard. New drainage inlets and ditches also will be installed.
Existing traffic patterns will be maintained during construction with lane shifts and detours at the affected intersections. Intermittent nighttime lane closures also will be required. Motorists should use extreme caution in construction zones.
Construction is scheduled for completion in July 2021.
The project is part of the Pinellas County Capital Improvement Program and is funded by Penny for Pinellas, with partial funding from the Florida Department of Transportation.
