Tampa man turns $5 into $500,000 after playing scratch-off game

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A Tampa man has claimed a $500,000 top prize from the new Florida Lottery $500,000 Jackpot Multiplier Scratch-Off game.

According to the Florida Lottery, 32-year-old Armando Mieres was the lucky winner.

He purchased his winning ticket from Jay Discount Food Store located at 7529 North Armenia Avenue in Tampa.

The $5 game features 12 top prizes of $500,000 and over $49 million in total cash prizes. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-4.01.
