Person responsible for shooting at Spring Hill bar now in custody

Local News

SPRING HILL, Fla. (WFLA) — Two people were injured in an overnight shooting at a bar in Spring Hill.

Hernando County deputies were called to the Delirium Lounge on Mariner Boulevard early Sunday morning for the shooting.

Two victims were taken to the hospital. Sheriff Al Nienhuis says both victims survived the shooting and are expected to be okay.

Sheriff Nienhuis says he had several detectives, deputies and special patrol units searching for and trying to identify the suspect throughout the early-morning hours.

They eventually took him into custody around 11:30 a.m. The sheriff’s office has not yet released that person’s name.

Preliminary investigation shows the suspect was talking to a young woman who was “not happy about it,” according to the sheriff. He says the victims then stepped in to defend the woman. During the confrontation between the victims and the suspect, Nienhuis says shots were fired.

The sheriff says his office is still investigating.STORIES OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON:
