We pass them often, but hardly stop to think, what’s at the top of some of the tallest buildings in downtown Tampa?
At the top of the Regions is Holland and Knight Law Firm. From the outside, it looks like a church or a home. Holland and Knight occupies the top five floors of the building.
The building is actually named 100 North Tampa and it was built in 1992.
At 42 floors, it’s also the tallest in the city
They get a lot of requests for people to come take a tour.
“Absolutely and you guys are lucky cause normally that’s not granted,” said Philip Dinkins with Cushman-Wakefiled.
One Tampa City Center was the tallest building in the state when it was built in 1981.
One of its original residents is the University Club of Tampa. They moved into the entire top floor in 1982.
“It’s a really a good place to come and start your day or end your day,” said Harry Costello with The University Club.
“People who are involved in various business events are aware it’s up here, but we find a lot of have no idea when they get here,” he said.
The club is 17,000 square feet and has both meeting and dining space and stunning views of Tampa’s picturesque scenery.
“Every view is a good view. There’s not a bad view in the house,” Costello said.
At the Bank of America building, the Tampa Club calls the top home.
All of the buildings offer amazing unique views of Tampa Bay. On a clear day, you see all the way to St. Petersburg and you can even catch a glimpse of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
“You really get a picture of what Tampa looks like and how much Tampa has grown,” Costello said.
Although the Regions, Bank of America and One City Center are businesses, if you wanted to buy a home and live in the lap of luxury at one of the top floors of a condo building around town, get ready to shell out some money.
A random check of listings shows an average price of $533.06 per square foot.
The lowest price of the seven buildings we checked is $400 per square foot, the highest being almost $591 per square foot.
The choices continue as all of these skyscrapers may soon be eclipsed by a new neighbor, Riverwalk Place. It is set to be taller than the tallest building in town.
