Law enforcement sets up website for Mollie Tibbetts search

Local News

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office provided updates Monday regarding the investigative response into the disappearance of 20-year-old Mollie Tibbetts.

The investigative team, made up of members from the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa DCI and the FBI, are continuing to follow up on investigative leads and tips. Information is still coming in and the investigation remains active.

Now, there is a new resource to help submit tips.

The website findingmollie.iowa.gov has been set up to inform people who were in specific areas on July 18 to see if they have any information about Mollie’s whereabouts.

“We are asking everyone to reflect back on the days prior to her disappearance in hopes of recalling any details about any persons or vehicles in the area,” said Mitch Mortvedt with the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation.

The team continues to encourage the public to submit any information they may have in regards to Mollie’s disappearance by calling Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa at 515-223-1400 or visiting their website.

The current reward fund via Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa stands at over $366,000.
