TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Tampa Bay area has many events for you to honor and remember the many servicemen and servicewomen who have fought for our freedom.
Here’s a list of events happening in our area during the Memorial Day weekend:
Hillsborough County
Tampa
22nd Annual Memorial Day Weekend Remembrance
When: May 26, 10 a.m.
Where: 3602 Highway 301 North, Tampa, Florida 33619
The event will take place at the Veterans Memorial Park and Rear Admiral Leroy Collins Jr. Museum. The remembrance will include several speakers, color guard, rifle salute, solemn wreath ceremony and the playing of taps. Refreshments will follow. Bleacher seating will be available and lawn chairs are welcomed.
American Legion U.S.S. Post 5 Memorial Day Service
When: May 27, 11 a.m.
Where: 3810 West Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, Florida 33609
There will be refreshments served in the legion hall following the service.
Florida Aquarium Honoring Our Heroes From Sea to Shining Sea
When: May 24 to May 27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 701 Channelside Drive, Tampa, Florida 33602
Active duty members, veterans, retired or drilling reservists, and National Guardsmen get two free general admission tickets with a valid military ID. Up to four additional guests receive a 50 percent off special on general admission tickets.

St. Petersburg
Bay Pines National Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony
When: May 27, 10 a.m.

Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery Memorial Day Service
When: May 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33709
The service will include a wreath-laying ceremony, remarks from servicemen and women, and a program dedicated to fallen heroes. A complimentary light lunch will be provided.
Clearwater
Clearwater Music and Arts Festival
When: May 25 to May 26
Where: 301 Drew Street, Clearwater, Florida 33755
The event will feature live music, visual arts displays, a kids zone, face painting and more. Admission is free.
Largo
When: May 27, 7 p.m.
Where: 101 Central Park Drive, Largo, Florida 33771
The ceremony will take place at Largo Central Park. There will be music, a keynote speaker and a special remembrance presentation.
Polk County
Haines City
Republican Club of Greater East Polk County Memorial Day Picnic
When: May 27, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Lake Wales
Memorial Day Carillon Concerts
When: May 27, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: 1151 Tower Blvd., Lake Wales, Florida 33853
The Carillon Concerts are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Free admission is offered to active, retired, honorably discharged and disabled veterans with a valid ID.
Sarasota County
Sarasota
Sarasota National Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony
When: May 25, 10 a.m.
Where: 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida 34241
When: May 27, 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Where: 1819 Main Street, Sarasota, Florida 34236
The parade will begin downtown and will travel down Main Street starting at Osprey Avenue. There will be a post-parade ceremony at J.D. Hamel Park on Gulf Stream Avenue.
Venice
When: May 27, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: 800 Venetia Bay Blvd., Venice, Florida 34285
The observance will take place in Patriots Park. All veterans and the public are welcomed. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs.
