Homes evacuated in Pasco County after depression opens under side of house

Local News

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Pasco County Fire Rescue is responding to a depression underneath a home on Barclay Road.

The depression opened up in the 7400 block of Barclay Road.

Two neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution.

According to an official, the hole cannot be called a “sinkhole” just yet, as some factors still need to be investigated.

The hole is solely on private property, so the county will not be filling in the hole or doing any work. The owner of the property will have to remedy the situation on their own.

An official said one neighbor willingly evacuated and a second chose not to.
