TAMPA (WFLA) – Summertime is rapidly approaching and kids are almost out of school. For many parents, it can be stressful to figure out how to entertain your child all summer long. Eight is on your side this summer with some free and inexpensive options to make sure it’s a great summer.
Pin Chasers bowling is offering a youth bowling league that encourages children to get off the couch, and get moving.
“First and foremost, physical fitness so at the end of the day what bowling has unique to other sports is that there’s never a bench. There’s never anyone sitting on the sidelines and anyone can participate no matter if they’re good bad or indifferent,” said Anthony Perrone, CEO, Pin Chasers.
Anthony Perrone is the CEO at Pin Chasers and wants to make a difference for families.
The Move Academy is a ten-week bowling program that’s open to any student from kindergarten to twelfth grade and it’s free!
“Any student can start and we have coaches that are a part of the program and can help them learn from day one and help them accomplish or get confident and just a number weeks they’re bowling like everyone else in the program,” said Perrone.
Some students can’t get enough and have been coming for years.
“I’ve been through it for about eight years and I highly recommend it to people. It’s a really fun sport, competitive, it’s very challenging but it keeps you ahead of the game,” said Daniel Brooks, participant.
Younger students are encouraging others to get their heads in the game!
“Bowling is fun and you should just come over and bowl with me,” said Marissa Mareo, participant.
The Move Academy takes place on Saturday mornings and there’s three different locations.
The goal is to encourage kids and let them have fun.
“I’ve been doing really good and I want to keep up the work and hopefully I will be beating 200. That’s my goal,” said Marero.

There’s also the AMC theatres summer movie camp both the Centro Ybor and Palm Harbor locations are participating.
Kids of all ages can enjoy a ticket to a family-friendly movie they can get popcorn, a fountain drink and fruit snacks for $4.
The camp is held every Wednesday morning this summer beginning on June 5th.
