TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A motorcyclist has died after losing control and striking a guard rail.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the motorcyclist entered the entrance ramp for northbound State Road 589/Clearwater/Air Cargo where it curves to the left when he failed to negotiate the curve, lost control striking the guard rail and its steel support.
The crash caused the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle. Tampa police have confirmed the rider did die from their injuries.
The northbound lanes of Memorial Highway access road at Tampa International Airport were closed for about two hours.
Traffic Homicide Detectives are actively investigating this crash.
