Doctors to reveal mental state of accused double murderer with neo-Nazi ties

Today doctors are expected to reveal their conclusions on Devon Arthurs mental state. He’s accused of killing his roommates at their Tampa Palms apartment back in 2017.

Arthurs was recenty brought back to a Hillsborough County jail after spending a year in a state mental hospital. 

Before Arthurs was sent to the mental hospital, doctors told a judge he wasn’t competent to stand trial but now the treatment staff believes he’s able to do so. 

Arthurs was arrested back in 2017. He told Tampa police he was once a senior member of a neo-Nazi group, which takes pride in violence and hate of minority groups. 

Police said Arthurs told them he converted to Islam and admitted to killing his two roommates in their Tampa Palms apartment after he said they didn’t respect his new religion. 

Arthurs also claimed to police that he saved thousands of lives by killing his roommates because he claimed they were planning terrorist attacks against US civilians. 

The investigation into attracted national attention and is filled with bizarre twists and turns.

Along with two counts of murder, Arthurs is also facing kidnapping and firearms charges.

In court on Thursday, the case was continued. The next disposition hearing is scheduled for June 5th at 8:30 a.m.
