Dessert Diva shares her Banana Split on a Stick recipe

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Do you need a portable treat for your Memorial Day Weekend picnic? 

Dessert Diva Danette Randall stopped by News Channel 8 and showed Gayle and Melissa how to make a Banana Split on a Stick.


4 bananas

4-8 strawberries (depending on size, cut off stem)

Pineapple chunks (I to 2 per stick if desired)

½ cup melted chocolate (more if you desire)

¼ cup sprinkles (more or less, depending on preference)

¼ cup chopped peanuts

8 maraschino cherry

Whipped cream (optional)


Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Peel banana, cut off ends, and cut 4 pieces.

Melt chocolate in small bowl

Place a piece of pineapple on popsicle stick or skewer, add a piece of banana, strawberry, and the other piece of banana.

Dip end in chocolate, and add sprinkles and nuts. Place on parchment paper. Repeat using all the fruit, making the banana split on a sticks as big, or small as you want. Place in freezer, or refrigerator. When ready to serve, either serve as is, or top with whipped cream, and a maraschino cherry.


NOTES- these are good as frozen bananas just dipped in chocolate and nuts, sprinkles, on a stick. You can omit or add any fruit you like. IF you are keeping outside, place serving platter on ice or ice packs to keep cool. Or display in a cute glass filled with ice (stick part of skewer without the fruit, standing up in the ice)
