CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Since 2013, the house located at 6705 W Park Drive in Homosassa, Florida, has been claimed a nuisance to the surrounding community. The house also caused an unsafe living environment, but today that changed.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and Code Enforcement supervised the demolition of the Park Drive home. Over the past six years, 43 calls for service and eight reports were created through the CCSO regarding the house.

In May 2018, CCSO detectives were issued a search warrant on the home in hopes of finding a man named George Jackson, who was wanted for narcotics and property crimes. Jackson fled from law enforcement and pointed a firearm at detectives but was later found under a neighboring mobile home, deputies said.

Jackson pleaded guilty to his charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convinced felon. He is currently serving a 16-year sentence.
