A casual café creating flaky, scratch-made biscuits topped with all-natural maple syrup has become the talk of the town.
The Maple Street Biscuit Company not only serves great food but also touches the lives of those in the Tampa Bay community.
The Maple Street Biscuit Company serves up comfort food with a modern twist.
The sleeper biscuit sandwich that will really get you is the Five and Dime.
“Your flakey biscuit, all natural chicken breast, pecan wood smoked bacon, slice of cheddar cheese, big scoop of our house-made sausage gravy with a kick and then an egg on top,” owner Joshua Kittinger said.
And the biscuit made famous by the Food Network’s “Guilty Pleasures” is the Squack and Goat biscuit.
For some folks, gourmet biscuits are a tradition but for others, it’s a novelty.
“It’s either very different because you didn’t grow up with it or you’re from somewhere in the south and it speaks about home,” Kittinger said.
The St. Pete home of the Maple Street Biscuit Company is planting their community roots by keeping business local.
“Making sure that we’re doing things a little bit differently than some of our other stores, trying to bring in local artists, and getting certain things like our bowls or our coffee sleeves sourced locally. So making sure this is a second, like a home away from home for people,” Kittinger said.
Each of the elaborately crafted biscuit sandwiches cost around $6-10 and there are five different locations in the Tampa Bay area.
