Breathe easy with salt therapy at The Salt Grotto

Hot Spots

Salt rooms have become increasingly popular to help solve breathing problems and the treatment has made its way to Tampa Bay.

The Salt Grotto in Brandon offers a unique alternative to remedy respiratory problems.

From tiny tots to the more experienced walks of life, dry salt therapy can be useful for anyone who is suffering from repertory issues, even animals.

The all-natural treatment is made possible when salt is ground through a machine called a halo generator.

At the salt grotto, the fine salt particles fill the room and brush into your airways to help you breathe with ease.

“So salt does that. It opens it up, it reduces the inflammation in your body, and it just makes you overall healthier,” Manager Sheila Alba said.

But that’s not all this ancient spice can do. It can also, “increase your immune system, reduce your stress levels, it also helps with sleep, anxiety and it also helps with skin conditions as well,” Alba said.

The walls and floors are covered in a natural Himalayan rock salt creating a spa-like environment for optimum relaxation.

Each Dry Salt Therapy treatment costs around $30 and lasts about 30 minutes.
