TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Sickle High School students returned to class after a fire forced evacuations at the school Thursday morning.

The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said firefighters are still working to extinguish a house fire near the school.  Officials said no residents were inside of the home when the fire broke out.

Sickle High School was temporarily evacuated due to smoke. The fire did not reach campus and did not affect the school, according to Hillsborough County Schools spokeswoman Tanya Arja.
