TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The annual Special Operations Forces Industry Conference is taking over the Tampa Bay Convention Center. It’s the premiere collaborative event for the industry and the Special Operations Forces community.

The goal of the conference is to get a look at future advancements and technologies that will make Special Operations Forces the best equipped force in the country.

“This is an opportunity that we do every year to interface and collaborate with our industry partners, to share what our needs are and to tell the industry our interest so we can all move away from the conference with a clear understanding of how we are going to accelerate SOF innovation,” said Col. Alex MacCalman, United States Special Operations Command.

The conference provides educational sessions, demonstrations and networking opportunities for Special Operations Forces and the Industry. This conference also gives businesses the opportunity to show off their latest projects.

“Companies are bringing out there newest products and newest innovation that will help our Special Forces Troops do their mission more effectively to save lives and come home safe,” added Joe Ailinger, FLIR Government Defense.

This conference hosted more than 13,000 people and 400 exhibits.
