A man accused of shooting and killing a woman in a Riverview neighborhood will stay in jail until Friday morning, the date of his pre-trial detention hearing.
DeAndre Hill, 35, is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He wore an anti-suicide gown during his first appearance in a Hillsborough County courtroom Tuesday morning.
Deputies said Hill got into a verbal argument with a woman outside his home in the 10000 block of Avian Forrest Drive just before 9 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators said Hill shot the woman multiple times during the argument as she tried to leave the home in her vehicle.
Neighbors said the area is usually quiet but they heard commotion and gunshots, followed by screaming Sunday night.
A witness identified Hill as the shooter, which allowed deputies to find him shortly after in the 3800 block of US Hwy. 301 S.
