HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – The Animal Control division of Hillsborough County Pet Resources removed about 36 cats, approximately 14 dogs, assorted ferrets, guinea pigs, prairie dogs and squirrels from a home on Thursday.
The animals were removed from a home on Steamboat Lane.
A spokesman for the county said all of the animals appeared to have had adequate food and water, but many had skin issues.
The dogs and cats were taken to the Pet Resource Center pending a court decision on ownership.
All of the other animals were taken by rescue groups.
The investigation is still active and no decisions have been made on citations or charges.
