TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - Tampa police say they have found the mother of a boy who was is in critical condition after being pulled from a pool on Wednesday.
The Tampa Police Department responded to a possible drowning call at the Ashford Place Apartments shortly before 11:30 a.m.
Initial information shows a 9-year-old boy was found unresponsive at the bottom of the pool.
The boy was pulled out of the pool and officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed him to an area hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition, police said.
Police said the boy lives in an apartment at Ashford Place.
He was left in the care of his grandfather while his mother was at work.
The grandfather was in the apartment while the boy was playing.
The boy's mother is at the hospital with him now. He is being treated at John Hopkins All Children's Hospital.
It's unclear at this time was caused the incident.
