Former employees are looking for work and patients are looking for doctors after the Laser Spine Institute of Tampa abruptly closed its doors. Displaced employees could get help today at a local career fair.
On Friday, the Laser Spine Institute announced it would close all of its doors. That means 500 employees are without a job and countless patients are left without doctors.
The company released a statement saying despite “significant” cost-saving activities over the past six months, the company was unable to achieve a financially stable path. Some former employees tell us they saw red flags within the company but never expected this outcome.
“It could have been presented differently, or things could have been changed at the end but when it all comes down to it, some of our bosses or V.P.’s or higher up that we thought, they’re in on it, they were just as surprised as us,” said Marty Snee, former employee.
If you’re a displaced employee from the Laser Spine Institute, Physician Partners of America is offering a job fair today with 70 plus positions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The address is 550 North Reo Street, in Tampa.
