TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A 15-year-old girl is facing charges after she allegedly cut a student with a knife at Chamberlain High School in Tampa on Friday, police said.
The incident occurred at about 11:25 a.m. Police said the girl was located at about noon.
Hillsborough County Schools spokeswoman Tanya Arja said the girl pulled out a knife during a confrontation with a male student and cut him. The boy sustained minor injuries.
The girl is now in custody but has not been officially charged. Police have yet to recover the weapon.
The school was temporarily placed on lock-in status, but Arja said operations are back to normal.
