Former Tampa pastor, daughter sentenced to prison for tax fraud

Hillsborough County

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A former Tampa pastor and his daughter are going to prison for tax fraud.

Luckner Stimphil, 55, and his daughter Elwolfine Dufort, 31, who ran tax prep business Top Popular Tax, pleaded guilty in February.

Stimphil was sentenced to 57 months in prison and Dufort was sentenced to 24 months.

They also owe $11 million in restitution.

Court documents show they urged clients to falsify tax forms. The business operated from around 2011 through at least mid-2015.

Luckner is a former pastor at First Calvary Family Life Ministry in Tampa.
