Hillsborough County

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Authorities have located two children after their father allegedly broke into a home and took one of them. The father remains at large, detectives said.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said 34-year-old Tawfik Dimion Hart broke into a home near Jackson Springs Road early Friday evening and took 8-year-old Janessa Carolyn Hart after he pushed someone out of the way.

He left the home with Janessa and a 10-month-old child in his custody.

The children were found safe on Sunday, but Hart remains at large. Further details regarding the matter were not disclosed.

Hart was previously believed to be headed to Tifton County, Georgia in a 2008 white Cadillac Deville with the Georgia tag RMV7486, authorities said Friday.

He is facing one charge of burglary with battery and one charge of interference with child custody.

Anyone who sees him is urged to call detectives at 813-247-8200.
