Bicyclist shot in Tampa after 2 men try to stop him

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A bicyclist was shot in Tampa early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the 33-year-old victim was riding a bicycle south on N Cord Street near E 21st Avenue around 12:13 a.m. 

Police say two men attempted to have the victim stop. The victim refused and tried to ride away.

As the victim was riding away, he heard a loud bang and felt a pain in his left buttock.

The victim believes one of the men who tried to stop him fired at him.

He was taken to Tampa General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have bene made at this time.
