18-year-old woman killed in shooting at Tampa house party identified

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The family of an 18-year-old woman killed in a shooting at a house party has allowed Tampa police to release her name.

Takiya Fullwood was an East Bay High School graduate who was attending Florida Atlantic University to major in biology.

Fullwood was in town visiting her family over the weekend when she attended the party where the shooting occurred on Sunday. 

The shooting happened in the 3200 block of North 15th Street.

At about 1 a.m. Sunday morning, officials say a fight occurred and spilled into the street. Then shots were fired.

Due to the size of the crowd, detectives are asking for witnesses to come forward with information. Anyone with information should call Tampa Police at 813-231-6130.
