One man was rescued and another was killed after a boat capsized off Tampa Bay Friday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Watchstanders at the Coast Guard 7th District Command Center got word of two distressed boaters in the waters approximately 54 miles west of Tampa.
One boat and one helicopter were dispatched to assist in the search and the helicopter crew hoisted one man from the water.
The rescued man was taken to Air Station Clearwater. His current condition was not disclosed.
The second man’s body was recovered Friday afternoon. He was identifed on Facebook by Old Salt Fishing Foundation as fisherman Christopher J. Clark.
