High-wind advisory continues Monday on Sunshine Skyway Bridge

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – The Florida Highway Patrol said on Monday morning that a high-wind advisory remains in effect on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

A FHP spokesperson said that traffic was flowing well on the bridge on Monday morning, with average wind speeds between 39-45 mph.

FHP issued a high-wind warning for the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on Sunday morning and later closed the bridge to all traffic when a strong storm moved through the Tampa Bay area. The bridge was reopened around 9:30 Sunday night.

Wind gusts of 30 to 33 mph were reported Sunday morning which prompted the high wind advisory, according to a Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson. Then, at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, wind speeds averaged 43 to 52 mph on the bridge and the FHP closed the Sunshine Skyway to all vehicles.RELATED-
