The Florida man who went viral during Hurricane Matthew has done it again in the midst of Hurricane Florence.
Lane Pittman became a viral sensation after he was seen holding an American flag while headbanging to Slayer when Hurricane Matthew hit Florida in 2007.
Now, more than 10 years later, Pittman and his flag have re-emerged to “slay” Hurricane Florence.
News 4 Jax reports the stuntman traveled to Myrtle Beach after raising $150 through GoFundMe.
“Pay for my gas/coffee and I’ll go fight Hurricane Florence. MERICA BABY!!! We stick together,” Pittman told donors.
And he came through.
On Friday, Pittman posted a video on Twitter with the caption “YOU ARE WEAK AND SMALL FLORENCE!!!!! FLORIDA MAN IS HERE!!!!!”
He can be seen holding the flag and staring down Florence like only a headbanger could.
“Just being free and American. I don’t let nothing oppress me, especially no dang, freaking hurricane,” he told Fox Business Network reporter Kristina Partsinevelos, who watched the stunt unfold.
Despite the funny stunt, Florence is no laughing matter. The storm continues to move westward toward the border between North and South Carolina, dumping life-threatening rain on the area. A total of four people are believed dead, including a mother and an infant who were killed when a tree fell on their home.
