Man who claimed to have bomb on bus in Ormond Beach surrenders, officials say

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (WESH) — A man who claimed to have a bomb on a bus in Volusia County was taken into custody Wednesday morning.

Officials said the man claimed to have a bomb while on a Votran bus near A1A and Harvard Avenue in Ormond Beach. The situation prompted a response from the FBI.

The man was taken into custody around 10:45 a.m.

The bomb threat prompted a lock down at Seabreeze High School and the evacuation of several nearby businesses.

No injuries were reported.
