Gov. DeSantis presents relief checks to more first responders in Jacksonville

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference in Jacksonville Tuesday afternoon to give more relief checks to first responders.

The governor paid a visit to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office after handing out checks in Surfside earlier Tuesday.

The checks are for $1,000 and are a portion of the bonuses promised to teachers and first responders earlier this year.

The bonuses are part of the governor’s “Florida’s Heroes” initiative. You can read more details here.
