WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida man driving a stolen tractor was shocked with a Taser after trying to flee from a deputy on Friday.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the dash camera video on Tuesday.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop involving Charles Nicolas McNeil, 28.
The deputy noticed McNeil operating a tractor on Douglas Ferry Road and became concerned after witnessing the tractor leave the road several times.
McNeil gave the deputy a false name when he was pulled over. He said he did not have any identification on him and his driver’s license wasn’t valid.
The deputy asked McNeil to step down from the tractor and conducted a pat down of the suspect.
A knife and partially labeled prescription medication bottle, containing pills, were found in McNeil’s pocket.
When the deputy began to detain McNeil, he turned away and aggressively attempted to flee.
He violently struggled with the deputy, hitting the deputy as he attempted to pick up the deputy and slam him to the ground.
When McNeil tried to flee again, the deputy deployed his Taser, striking McNeil.
He fell to the ground, hitting his head on the road and lost consciousness.
EMS was called to the scene.
McNeil regained consciousness and provided his real name and date of birth.
After further investigation, the sheriff’s office found the tractor driven by McNeil was stolen from a 71-year-old man.
McNeil is facing felony charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer and grand theft.
