FHP: Florida man used remote control device to cover license plate, avoid paying tolls

Florida

SANFORD, Fla. — A man was arrested in Seminole County last month after troopers said they caught him using a remote-control license plate cover to avoid paying tolls.

The Florida Highway Patrol released video Monday they said shows John Guevarra being pulled over on State Road 417 in Sanford on May 16.

Guevarra told the trooper there is a remote inside the car that controls the shield.

The trooper said the tag was able to be covered with the click of a button.

Guevarra was arrested and charged with fraud.
