Gov. Ron DeSantis announces funds for Lake Butler infrastructure improvements

Florida

LAKE BUTLER, Fla. (WFLA) — Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Friday morning that Lake Butler would be getting $3.5 million in funds to improve wastewater infrastructure.

The improvements to wastewater collection and pumps would help the city prepare for potential impacts of future hurricanes.

“My administration is dedicated to supporting projects that improve infrastructure, increase hurricane preparedness and elevate our rural communities,” Governor Ron DeSantis said. “This investment in Lake Butler will benefit the entire community’s residents, businesses and surrounding natural resources.”

The program from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity will harden a master pump station, wastewater force main and give emergency generators to six pump stations.
