Discover Florida ecosystems, wildlife at ‘Circle B Bar Reserve’

News

Circle B Bar Reserve is a former cattle ranch and today it is home to a wide variety of plants and animals.

You can see several distinct ecosystems in this reserve of only 1,267 acres.

You’re almost guaranteed to see alligators in Lake Hancock, often considered the headwaters of the Peace River, which flows more than 100 miles from Polk County southwest to the Gulf of Mexico.

There are over 200 species of birds checked in on the Circle B Bar Reserve guest list.

You can hit the trails for yourself on the northwest shore of Lake Hancock in Lakeland from dawn to dusk for free.

The Polk’s Nature Discovery Center is located at 4399 Winter Lake Rd in Lakeland.
