Celebrating national beer day

It’s the day to hoist a pint or a mug as Sunday is National Beer Day.

Beer is a widely popular alcoholic beverage, and it’s been around for a very long time.

Experts say it could date back more than 10,000 years when cereal grains were first farmed. In fact, beer is mentioned in the written history of ancient Egypt!

So why is April seventh the day to celebrate beer?

It all goes back to the days of prohibition, which banned the sale, production, and distribution of alcoholic beverages in the U.S.

On April 7, 1933, the “Cullen-Harrison act” went into law.

The measure made the selling of low-alcoholic beverages like beer and wine in the united states legal again and for the first time in more than a decade, Americans could step outside and enjoy a brew to celebrate.
