‘Bomb cyclone’ to hit parts of U.S., may generate blizzard, tornadoes, flooding


A fierce winter storm is expected to touch down in the U.S. heartland Wednesday.

CNN reports a “bomb cyclone” will deliver blizzard conditions, heavy wind gusts, possible tornadoes and flooding. 

The Central-Northern Plains, the upper Midwest, and the Rockies are expected to be hit the hardest. Tens of millions of people will be affected, according to the news network. 

More than 1,000 flights have already been grounded for Wednesday, according to Flight Aware.
