FORT WORTH, Texas (WFLA/KXAS) – Not every child who meets Santa is happy about it.

But some are downright grateful, like Matthew Wolf.

An annual photo with Santa is a tradition for some, but 6-year-old Matthew, who is blind and has autism, had never met the big guy until this year.

Even with his challenges, Matthew had developed a huge interest in Santa.

His mother said she whispered to Santa about Matthew’s situation and Santa knew just what to do.

He got on the floor and let Matthew feel his face and eyes.

Matthew also touched Santa’s beard and jacket.

Photos of the two went viral.

Misty Wolf said that experience meant more to her than any Christmas present and that Matthew will appreciate forever.

“He’s never seen a reindeer. He’s never seen a picture of a reindeer. So the thing is — let him feel one. And we have them right here,” said Santa.
