TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Former Texas congressman and 2020 presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke is in Tampa Bay today.
The 2020 Democratic candidate is holding a roundtable for veterans in Tampa, marking the first time he will visit the Bay Area on the trail.

The roundtable is scheduled to take place at Brew Bus Brewing on North Florida Avenue at 10 a.m.
He’s scheduled to discuss his new comprehensive plan to support veterans, which calls for ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and establishing a fund to support future veterans services.
A campaign spokesperson said O’Rourke will meet with veterans, military, family members and advocates and learn about the unique challenges they face in their communities.
O’Rourke, a congressman from Texas attempted to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz (R) in 2018, but fell short.
Florida is a key state when it comes to presidential elections. The I-4 corridor, between Tampa and Orlando, is crucial. President Donald Trump made his re-election announcement from downtown Orlando last week.
