Travel tips and tricks to save you money during spring break

Living Local

Spring break is just around the corner and taking a trip shouldn’t mean you have to break the bank.

Whether you’re looking to get out of town by boat, plane or car there are ways to save money on last-minute travel.

Clinton Bertucci, with locally based travel company Travr, says the first step is making your plans a priority.

When you’re looking for a good deal on flights, check out SkyScanner.com.

Type in your desired travel dates and departure location and leave the arrival place blank. This will register all destinations available and show the price as well.

If you’d like to get out on the water, Cuba is a great option since it’s so close. Just beware there is little to no wifi service, so plan ahead and use maps.me that works like Google maps.

Download the city you’re visiting before you go and you’ll be set to wander the streets.

Do you have a bunch of little ones? Pack them up in the car and hit the road. Deland, St. Augustine, North Carolina or hike the Appalachian Trails for something a bit different.

To make this simple use Waze for the shortest route, GasBuddy for lowest gas prices and Road Trippers for all the best restaurants and places to sightsee.
