From the Spaghetti alla Carbonera to the Pizza Fritta, it doesn’t get more authentic Italian than south Tampa’s Viva Napoli restaurant.
Two years ago, Simona Sarpa moved to Tampa from her native Napoli, Italy and opened Viva Napoli. Inspired by her grandparents’ restaurant, Sarpa follows the tradition of the Neapolitan cuisine passed down through the generations.
The centerpiece of the kitchen, a large wood fired oven built in Napoli from the famous “Biscotto di Sorrento” stone to perfectly cook the Neapolitan-style pizza.
The restaurant relies mostly on imported products from Italy to meet the authenticity of the Neapolitan cuisine.
And just when you thought Viva Napoli couldn’t get any more Italian, even the employees come from Italy. So if you plan on stopping by for a taste of Italy you better bring a passport.
