TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Tampa Bay’s food scene is gaining ground, and foodies across the country are taking notice.
After curating more than 12 million verified diner reviews from March 1, 2018 to Feb. 28 of this year for more than 30,000 restaurants, OpenTable selected seven Florida restaurants to be honored on the list.
The Oxford Exchange and Ulele were the two Tampa restaurants chosen.
Opened by the McDonald’s franchise owners, brother and sister team Blake and Alison Casper Adams created The Oxford Exchange in 2012. The Oxford Exchange’s menu ranges smoked salmon to house-made granola for breakfast
The restaurant received 4,413 reviews for an average score of 4.8 out of five stars.
Ulele also made the national list, garnering a 4.7 out of five stars from its 6,329 reviews.
Featuring unique native-American inspired foods and seafood from grouper to stuffed Portobello mushrooms. The restaurant also has a 2,100-square-foot brewery in front of a beer garden that schedules tours upon request.
Many OpenTable reviews for Ulele also mention its unique location, near Tampa’s Riverwalk.
“Ulele is set in a picturesque location on the Hillsborough River near downtown Tampa,” one reviewer said. “The experience at Ulele is worth the visit. Before or after dinner I suggest a walk to the river to observe the fantastic view.”
