Don’t you just love the weather in Tampa Bay? I do! It can be a “pool day” almost every day of the year.

I started working at WFLA in September, 2007. You can start your day with me at 4:30am Monday-Friday, and I’ll always show you how it’s going to feel when you step outside. That way, you’re not surprised! For those of you who like to sleep in a little later, you can catch my weather forecasts on WTTA Great 38 at 7am, and I co-host the newscast from 8am-9am on Great 38.

Since so many people ask, here’s the answer. I wake up at 1:30am and go to bed at 6:30pm, so I am lucky that it’s always been easy for me to fall asleep. During the summer, it’s still sunny at 7pm, but as soon as I close my eyes, I’m asleep. Also, I only drink one cup of coffee a day.

As a runner, the weather entices me to get out and explore the neighborhoods around my house during my afternoon runs. I’ve even run two marathons. Tampa’s Gasparilla Distance Classic is one of my favorite weekends of the year, so if you’ve never taken part in the races that weekend, you should.

I’m a huge college football fan! Sorry, Florida Gators…I’m a Georgia Bulldog!

Before moving to Tampa, I worked at our sister station, WCBD, in Charleston, SC where I was also the morning meteorologist. While at WCBD, I received the Award of Merit for South Carolina Weathercaster of the Year. I also worked at WMAZ in Macon, GA.

I earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation in 2008 and hold the National Weather Association Broadcast Seal of Approval.

I graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS in Geography and a certificate of Atmospheric Science. I was one of the first people at UGA to graduate with the Atmospheric Science Certificate, and I graduated Magna Cum Laude.

My husband and I live in Tampa, and our dachshund, Emily, and Yorkie-mix, Pickles, let us live in the house with them.
