October 19   5-8 p.m.

     Tour or Homes kicks off with our annual, can’t-miss block party. Everyone will be here … from local businesses and restaurants, to clubs and social groups. LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW 

October 19 & 20   6-8 p.m.

Sarasota Polo Club

     Ichabod Crane, Katrina Van Tassel and, of course, the Headless Horseman come to life in this wickedly funny adaptation of Washington Irving’s classic tale. Visit theplayers.org to purchase tickets for this immersive outdoor theatre experience.

COMMUNITY BIKE RIDE

October 20 and November 17   8-9 a.m.

     Join Lakewood Ranch ambassador Greg Spring for a 10-mile, one-hour, casual bike ride through Lakewood Ranch. Meet at the fountain on Main Street. This is a great way to see The Ranch. Don’t forget to bring your helmet! 

BOOFEST

October 26   6-9 pm.

     Lakewood Ranch Community Activities’ annual Halloween-themed event! Enjoy the “Spooktacular maze,” watch local dancers, listen to music, and have the kids bring their trick-or-treat bags to collect treats from the merchants and sponsors. Don’t forget to dress up for the costume contest! 

BOO RUN

October 27   5-11 a.m.

Lakewood Ranch Main Street

     Join us for the 15th annual Boo Run 5K and Boo Dash! This is a family-oriented race with a costume contest and awards. More than 1,200 runners and spectators are expected for this exciting event. Online registration ends at 11:59 P.M. Oct. 25. Proceeds benefit Another Day for Gray Foundation. BARCTOBER FEST

October 27    11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Bob Gardner Community Park

   Celebrate your pet and save others. The inaugural Barctober Fest will be a fun-filled day of pet-related activities with your pooch. Try a variety of beers, sip on wine and eat great food while listening to music by Reverend Barry & The Funk. Support the ARC (Animal Rescue Coalition) mission of making high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter available to everyone. Experience all there is to offer for you and your pet in and around Lakewood Ranch. All dogs, owners and animal lovers are welcome. There will be activities for both dog and cat lovers (please don’t bring kitty to the event – It will be too overwhelming for them). All dogs must be on non-retractable leashes under 6 ft. in length. MUSIC ON MAIN

November 2   6-9 p.m.

     Join us for a free concert series and block party. The street is lined with food vendors, beer trucks, and sponsor booths, as well as rides and activities for the kids. The Dr. Dave Band will fill the air with high energy classic rock, country and bluegrass music and the deejay will keep you dancing with today’s top 100 hits; the event will benefit Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee. 

DICK VITALE INTERCOLLEGIATE CLAY COURT CLASSIC

November 2-4

     Watch the best Division 1 tennis players in the country compete on our courts in the only college tournament played on clay. 

GULF COAST CYCLEFEST

November 4   7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Lakewood Ranch Main Street

        This marks the 44th anniversary of the Sarasota Manatee Bicycle Club and Gulf Coast Cyclefest. Presented by the Sarasota Manatee Bicycle Club, the event is one full day of superb cycling. Riders may choose supported routes of 104-, 79-, 62-, 35-, or 20-mile distances. All routes are designed for safety. This is not a race and is designed to be a family event for cyclists of all abilities. Breakfast provided along with a catered lunch. Proceeds benefit The Legacy Trail Extension. CLASSIC CAR SHOW

November 7   5-8 p.m.

Lakewood Ranch Main Street  

     A celebration of “The Classics,” the community is invited to bring their cars, trucks, or anything on wheels. All are welcome to participate for just $10 per vehicle, and there are no restrictions on year, make or model. Food, music, prizes and the thunderous roar of engines are all part of the fun! 

EMPTY BOWLS

November 9   11 a.m.-1 p.m.

     Empty Bowls is a luncheon to benefit The Food Bank of Manatee. Enjoy a delicious selection of soups, fresh-baked bread, dessert, and take home a beautiful hand-painted ceramic bowl. Manatee County area restaurants, local businesses, and talented artists all contribute to fight hunger at this luncheon. This symbolic meal of soup and bread demonstrates that together, we are “Feeding Manatee County”!

COMMUNITY NATURE WALK

November 10   8-9 a.m.

Greenbrook Adventure Park

   Join Lakewood Ranch ambassador Greg Spring for a two-mile, one-hour nature walk on some of the trails in Lakewood Ranch. Meet at the pavilion at the Greenbrook Adventure Park. You will be amazed at all the nature you will see. 

SUNCOAST FOOD AND WINE FEST

November 10   1-4 p.m.

Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch

     Suncoast Food & Wine Fest offers an afternoon of samplings and tastings from a large selection of the area’s finest restaurants as well as a variety of fine wines and other beverages in a beautiful outdoor setting. Your participation by purchasing a ticket provides financial assistance to many charitable organizations within Sarasota and Manatee counties, and other Lakewood Ranch Rotary projects. TIDEWELL HOSPICE TURKEY TROT 5K

November 17   7 a.m.-12 p.m.

     Join us for our Thanksgiving-themed 5K in Lakewood Ranch. The stroller- and pet-friendly event follows a route from Health Parkway onto Town Center Parkway and back. Plenty of turkey-themed volunteers, water stop and music will shepherd the participants along. Chip timing by Lakeshore Athletic Services (providers to the Chicago Marathon), then a great after party and awards ceremony. The event benefits patients and families in the Lakewood Ranch area. PONIES UNDER THE PALMS MUSTANG AND FORD SHOW

November 18   8 a.m.-3 p.m.

     The Mustang Club of West Central Florida will hold its 27th annual show. Mustang and Ford enthusiasts from throughout the region will compete for awards. The public is invited free of charge to see outstanding examples of older and newer Mustangs. Mustang and other special interest and Ford car and truck owners are invited to enter their cars for judging, awards and prizes. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Southeastern Guide Dogs and Take Stock in Children.
