Ana Laura Gonzalez Taha shares her family’s flan recipe, passed down for generations in Guanajuato, Mexico. With just a few ingredients and a simpler baking method than traditional flan, any home cook can prepare this delicacy!

8 eggs

1 can evaporated milk

1 cup whole milk

2 tablespoons vanilla

1 cup sugar (for melting and caramelizing)

Preheat over to 350 degrees. In a flat pan, on low heat, pour the sugar and mix continuously until it reaches an amber color. Remove from heat and pour into a baking dish. Pour the remaining ingredients into a blender and blend well, then pour into the baking dish. Bake until a thoothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, 30-50 minutes.
