Candy is one of the most popular Valentine’s Day gifts, along with flowers and chocolate. But one of the staple candies for Valentine’s Day was hard to find this year.

Sweethearts candy, the iconic brand that features sayings on the heart-shaped candies like “Be Mine,” “Miss you,” and “Love me,”Took a hiatus from production this year as the new company works on moving its factory.

Candy lovers will have to find a new way to express their love today.

According to a news release from Ohio-based Spangler Candy — the company that bought the original makers of Sweethearts and Necco —  they plan on restarting production on the candy in 2020.

Until then, you’ll have to find some left over bags to get you through Valentine’s Day.

Spangler Candy Co. announced the purchase of Necco in June of 2018.
