Sadiel Castro is thrilled to be a part of the launch and evolution of tampahoy.com. You will see and read Sadiel’s stories daily on the Spanish-language website and social media pages.
Sadiel grew up in Puerto Rico but moved to the United States when he was 17.
He started his career in media working as an independent producer for Univision 65, Telefutura, in Philadelphia, with a focus on radio and social media strategies. He also worked at La Mega 105.7 FM as a morning show host, El Zol 99.9 FM as an on-air personality and Program Director, and later in Orlando at Rumba 100.3 FM. He joined WFLA/TampaHoy from 92.5 Máxima in Tampa Bay.
Sadiel has always and continues to be involved in the Spanish-speaking community, working directly with community leaders and assisting others in their radio programs.
“As a communications employee, I have worked directly with the Hispanic community, covering community situations, immigration, politics, and the problems we face as Hispanics in this country. I have Hispanic friends from all over the world. From Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Honduras, Argentina, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Spain, there are so many that I don’t know how to end. I love to show the world through my reports of the good things that the beautiful people in the Hispanic community have; its food, traditions, and more. I think being born Latino was the greatest privilege. We are an essential piece in this great country of the United States”
