Gerardo Cierra joined the Digital Team at WFLA in September 2021. He is a Digital News Producer for Tampa Hoy, a platform that brings the most relevant content to the Latinx community in Tampa Bay. He is passionate and committed about connecting with the audiences watching on the WFLA app, TampaHoy.com, and Tampa Hoy social media platforms.
Gerardo was born and raised in El Salvador, Central America. His mother inspired him to pursue his media career. He graduated with a Marketing degree from Universidad Dr. José Matías Delgado. After five years narrating and directing content in Spanish for networks such as National Geographic Latin America, and training dozens of individuals in Neutral Spanish accent, Gerardo moves to the Sunshine State.
In 2013, Gerardo started his journey in Tampa Bay’s broadcast media by joining the production team of WYUU-FM.
Outside of work, Gerardo enjoys going to the beach with his family, exploring the best restaurants in the Bay area, and supporting local charities.
From El Salvador, Gerardo is a soccer aficionado. He is thrilled to live in paradise with his wife Jenna, and his kids Owen and Emma, supporting the Tampa Bay Rays (Go Rays!), the Bolts, Bucs, and of course, the Rowdies. You can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org
