Untreated, untested, back to work

Burned by fire and chemicals in an explosion  17 months ago, suffering from Post Traumatic Stress and a possible Traumatic Brain Injury, a Lakeland man is being told by Travelers Indemnity Company that he is ready to return to work.

The explosion in September 2017 sent Neil Eckelberger to Tampa General’s Burn Unit.

In addition to burns Neil suffered hearing loss, concussion, hip and back injuries and according to his doctor psychological damage.

Under Florida’s Workers Compensation law, insurance carriers decide what doctors injured workers see.  

Travelers has denied Neil treatment that doctors the company sent him to recommend. 

When an injured worker isn’t given tests and treatment how can an insurance company determine he is at maximum medical improvement?

What does it all boil down to?
