TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

A woman motorist was injured in a train vs. vehicle collision on Adamo Drive at 34th Street in Tampa Sunday evening, authorities said.

The collision caused Tampa police to close Adamo Drive from 22nd to 34th streets while the incident is being investigated.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, a train hauling ethanol collided with a vehicle on Adamo Drive, the Tampa Police Department said.

After the impact, the train dragged the vehicle at least 300 yards down the railroad track.

The woman, whose name is being withheld, was taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time.

City of Tampa officials also temporarily closed the Selmon Expressway, which runs adjacent to Adamo Drive, as a precaution since a train hauling ethanol was involved.

Motorists traveling on Adamo Drive are encouraged to find alternate routes.
