Johnson City Police investigates rash of slashed tires

Posted: Updated:
JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) -  The Johnson City Police Department is investigating a series of tires that were slashed over the weekend. A viewer that lives off of Beechwood Drive near Antioch Road in Johnson City alerted us to the incident.

Around 10a.m. Sunday morning we saw the aftermath, finding numerous tires slashed at different homes along
Beechwood Drive. In some cases, all four tires were deflated. We found some of the cars were parked along the road, others were in driveways.

Right now police are only telling us they are investigating the incident.

We spoke to numerous residents who's tires had been slashed, they could not comprehend why someone would do this.

"I was real mad at first but when I found out there was more people involved, now I'm real mad," said Sean Carden.

"I feel frustrated because its just senseless destruction," said Lee Mockmore.

"It makes us feel unsafe because we have lived here so long and nothing like this has ever happened to us," said Tami Roberts.

We will continue to update you as we learn more about the investigation.
